But you don't need an extra half million dollars floating around to enjoy the driving experience of the Saleen S7 - you just need an Xbox 360.
But if we're gonna pay over $500K for a car, we'd expect that kind of customer service, too. Now that's what we call customer service. Not that it matters, Saleen custom builds the seat of every S7 around its future owner's proportions before it is even delivered to said owner. Not to be catty or anything, but from what we've seen on TV, most of the people that can actually afford an S7 also have a waistline fatter than their offshore bank accounts. It's not cheap, as only the super-rich can afford one of these.
YES NO All told, this power increase and improved aero give the S7 a zero-to-sixty time of less than three seconds and a top speed of over 200 miles per hour. The S7's overall shape was also slightly redesigned in 2005, which reduces the car's aerodynamic drag and increases the car's down force. As if we need to say it, the S7's chassis is as high-tech as it gets - it's made from aerospace-grade carbon fiber. For a vehicle to truly qualify as a supercar, the chassis needs to be as super as the engine. Of course, one can't simply put a high-tech 700-horsepower engine into any car and expect a supercar. This new '05-spec twin-turbo engine is good for 700 horsepower and 750 lb.-ft. However, turbochargers always make a car better, so in 2005, Saleen slapped two of 'em onto the high-tech V8. The S7's 7-liter all-aluminum V8 is pretty much a hand-built race engine, so improving upon it wasn't exactly an easy task. Not shabby, but the tuning gurus at Saleen knew they could do better. Looking more like a shark than a supercar, the S7 boasted over 500 horsepower and 500 lb.-ft. Back in 2002, Saleen released the U.S.'s first mid-engined exotic supercar, the Saleen S7. let us clue you in and tell you about Saleen's very own supercar. What's that? However, as cool as it is to hop in to a Saleen-tuned Ford, it's even cooler to hop in to an original Saleen-built vehicle. But we can't always get what we want, especially when it comes to Saleen-tuned vehicles - we're too poor to afford one. We'd also like a Saleen-tuned Focus and Contour like the ones we saw at the Los Angeles Auto Show a few years back. We all wanted a 1990 Saleen Mustang as kids. Saleen is primarily known as the company that tunes some pretty bitchin' Mustangs.
